The Children’s Campaign team has officially kicked off our KIDS COUNT travel season with first stops in Aspen and Leadville. Of course, this gave us the opportunity to drive over one of Colorado’s many beautiful passes (twice!).

Each fall we travel across the state to share county-specific presentations on child well-being with child advocates, local officials and service providers. In Aspen, we were hosted by Kids First of the City of Aspen and sponsored by Pitkin County DHS and Alpine Bank.

And over the hill in Leadville we were hosted by Lake County Build a Generation and Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Council. Many thanks to It’s About Kids leaders Shirley Ritter, Ligia Bonilla, Stacy Petty and Eudelia Contreras for coordinating these events. And thanks to the wonderful folks who attended for all your work with Colorado’s kids and families!

About Children's Campaign

The Colorado Children’s Campaign is a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization committed since 1985 to realizing every chance for every child in Colorado. We advocate for the development and implementation of data-driven public policies that improve child wellbeing in health, education and early childhood. We do this by providing Coloradans with trusted data and research on child wellbeing and organizing an extensive state-wide network of dedicated child advocates. For more information, please visit
