The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) recently opened provider registration for Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado, which is set to launch in fall 2023. Hundreds of early childhood providers are now one step closer to serving the thousands of Colorado kids and families seeking to use these services in the year prior to their child entering Kindergarten.
Already, the number of preschool providers registered is encouraging. As of this morning, 774 provider registration forms have been completed, representing 26,516 seats available for kids in UPK. CDEC’s goal is 32,000 UPK seats, and we are hopeful that the number of seats will continue to grow in the coming weeks.
To register and become a participating UPK Colorado provider, providers must log in to UPK Colorado or contact their Local Coordinating Organization (LCO). They must also sign a provider agreement. After registering, providers can create profiles to advertise their services. Registration is open to all providers licensed to support preschool-aged kids. Be on the lookout for the family enrollment process, which launches on Jan. 17.
