We are getting close to seeing full-day kindergarten become a reality for every kid in every district in Colorado, but we aren’t there yet. We have just a few months to show our legislators how much this would mean for the kids and parents that live in our communities. We’re looking for advocates to support the Kindergarten NOW Coalition through a variety of ways.

Attend a kick-off meeting

We are holding kickoff meetings around the state, meeting with the parents, educators, and community members who are ready to stand up for our kids’ education. Sign up here to attend and learn more about the campaign.

Kickoff meetings:

  • March 6: Golden/Jefferson County, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • March 7: Westminster/Adams County, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • March 9: Colorado Springs/El Paso County, 11 a.m. to noon
  • March 9: Pueblo/Pueblo County, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Our kickoff meeting will have some guest speakers to talk about the value of full-day kindergarten in our communities, and will also include some trainings on how to write a letter to your legislator and how to advocate to elected officials on this topic.

Lobby Day: date coming soon

We are also holding a lobby day in late March or early April (final date TBD shortly) to advocate directly to our legislators at the state capitol in Denver. Sign up here to learn more about the upcoming lobby day.

If you are not available for these events, we still want to make sure your voice is heard! We are planning a lot of events in March and April. You can sign up here to learn more about how to get involved.
