Join us December 10 for Early Childhood Advocacy Training
In partnership with Child Care Works, the Prenatal, Infant, Toddler Coalition, Early Childhood Council Leadership Alliance and Clayton Early Learning, we are proud to offer a free daylong advocacy training for child advocates from across Colorado on Monday, December 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at WorkAbility-Uptown at the Sudler, 1576 Sherman St. At the Early Childhood Advocacy Training, we will cover the legislative process, the difference between advocacy and lobbying, analysis of the 2018 election, tips for effectively engaging policymakers, guidance on effective storytelling, and action planning for the 2019 legislative session. Register today at .
Thanks to funding from Think Babies, we are able to offer one night’s hotel stay and mileage reimbursement for those traveling from outside the Denver-Boulder metro area. Please register by Nov. 23 if you will need a hotel room. Otherwise, registration closes on November 30.
The Dec. 10 Early Childhood Advocacy Training is distinct from, yet complementary to, our annual Speak Up for Kids Day at the Capitol. The Early Childhood Advocacy Training will provide a stronger foundation in advocacy skills than we have time to provide at Speak Up and will not delve as deeply into the specific policy issues to be considered at the Capitol during the 2019 legislative session. In addition, the Dec. 10 Early Childhood Advocacy Training does not include a trip to the Capitol nor visits with your elected officials. If you have never attended Speak Up for Kids, this is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the policymaking process and effective advocacy. If you have participated in Speak Up for Kids, this is a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of the policymaking process and effective advocacy.
