The 2020 Census count will continue for now, thanks to a court ruling prohibiting the U.S. Census Bureau from ending the count prematurely on Sept. 30 as they had initially planned to do. This court ruling is good news for households who have not yet filled out their census forms—there’s still time! You can complete a 2020 Census form for your household online, by phone or by mail in fewer than 10 minutes. As of Sept. 30, nearly 70 percent of Colorado households had self-responded to the 2020 Census. Census Bureau enumerators are visiting the remainder of households to obtain responses in person, but this method of counting typically results in less accurate data. The best way to make sure you and your household are represented in the 2020 Census count is to complete the form yourself. By being counted in the census, you help make sure that YOUR community receives its fair share of billions of dollars in federal funding for education, child care, health care and more, as well as fair representation in Washington, D.C. Complete your form today.
