Fast Fact – Oct. 28, 2022

In 2020, there were 9 victims of child abuse or neglect out of every 1,000 kids under 18 in Colorado. The rate represents substantiated cases of child maltreatment, including cases of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and/or neglect. Experiencing maltreatment can significantly impact a child physically, behaviorally and psychologically for their lifetime, with the potential for impacts on future generations through stress and epigenetic changes.
