Many children across our state depend on healthy school meals every day. In the 2019-2020 school year, 41 percent of Colorado’s public school students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch due to their families’ limited incomes. Research demonstrates that access to nutritional meals is essential to a child’s overall health, and can impact their behavior and academic performance as well. To see data on students who depend on free or reduced-price lunches in your school district or county, please visit the KIDS COUNT Data Center.
