In the fall of the 2020-2021 school year, 11.8 percent of Colorado’s students in PK-12th grade were enrolled in special education and received specially designed instructional programs to meet their needs. However, given the overall decrease in enrollment in Colorado’s public schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these figures may underestimate or overestimate the true population.
