In the 2022-23 school year, student enrollment in Colorado public schools fell by more than 3,200 students (about 0.4%), bringing enrollment down to 883,264 students in grades PK-12. This decline in enrollment occurred one year after student enrollment appeared to be rebounding slightly from a steep decline during the first year of the pandemic. As of fall 2022, there were nearly 30,000 fewer students enrolled in Colorado public schools than there had been before the COVID-19 pandemic.
