Colorado Education Initiative launches partnership with free, live tutoring platform
With millions of students across the country continuing to face disruptions in their education, concerns about student learning and access to supplemental resources remain at the forefront. In our state, the Colorado Education Initiative (CEI) hopes to change this. Recently, CEI partnered with Schoolhouse.world, a tutoring platform launched in early 2020, to help provide free, live tutoring to kids across the state.
Created by Sal Kahn, founder of the popular Kahn Academy learning site, Schoolhouse.world aims to accelerate learning in a time when students are facing more obstacles in their education than ever before. The website currently offers small group tutoring sessions in grades 6-12 math and SAT prep, but plans to expand across a variety of subject areas and grade levels in the coming months.
The partnership between CEI and Schoolhouse.world will promote these services across communities in Colorado. Colorado educators can support and access their students’ learning progress on Schoolhouse.world through CEI’s website, The Hub. Colorado is the first state to launch this kind of partnership.
This breakthrough platform has already facilitated over a thousand tutoring sessions with students from nearly 40 countries. Most importantly, though, it ensures kids have access to the learning resources they need, regardless of financial considerations. There is no limit to the number of students who can sign up, and no deadline to register for this incredible educational opportunity. Click here to get involved as a student, tutor, or partner.
