Colorado colleges will host Free Application DayOn Oct. 30 more than 30 Colorado schools will be offering free college applications for students. Gov. John Hickenlooper declared October as College Application Month in an effort to increase access for all students to pursue higher education. Application fees for most colleges range anywhere from $50 to $100, which adds up quickly for students applying to more than one school.

The College Application Month website shares more detailed information, including instructions for how to submit applications on Oct. 30 as well as the list of schools participating. The list of colleges include four-year institutions, public two-year and technical colleges.

We know that students who pursue and obtain college degrees increase their lifetime earnings. In fact, Bachelor’s degree holders earn 31 percent more than those with an Associate’s degree and 84 percent more than those with just a high school diploma, according to a report from the Center on Education and the Workforce. Encourage students and others around you to learn more about College Application Month and receive notifications about helpful next steps.

Post the hashtag #FreeAppDayCO on Oct. 30 to social media.
