CAP releases new poverty data tool
The Center for American Progress (CAP) recently launched a new data tool that allows user to more easily explore U.S. Census Bureau poverty data on the national, state, and congressional district level. Users can explore the following four data areas with this new project:
- National-level data on poverty and other economic indicators, by year
- State or congressional district level data, by year
- Compare data between up to four states, by year
- Explore map tool to see data, by year
The tool aims to support advocacy efforts and amplify other economic indicators. These include housing insecurity, food insecurity, health insurance coverage, and labor market participation, among others. To learn more about this tool, visit https://www.americanprogress.org/data-view/poverty-data/.
