It’s About Kids Network

It’s About Kids (IAK) is the Colorado Children’s Campaign’s statewide child advocacy network. It is comprised of health, early childhood, education, and other community issue professionals including business leaders, advocates, legislative staff and parents. These engaged citizens are joined together by their concern for the well-being of Colorado’s children. IAK members advocate for Colorado children by staying informed about children’s issues through the IAK monthly newsletter, as well as the Children’s Campaign’s weekly electronic newsletter KidsFlash. IAK members also contact their legislators during important public policy decisions impacting kids, participate in public events and rallies in support of kids, and share information about Colorado kids with their communities.

The It’s About Kids network is led by dedicated community leaders who provide guidance and direction to their communities and to the Colorado Children’s Campaign in a variety of ways, including:

  • advocating for the unique needs and characteristics of the children in their communities;
  • engaging in regular dialogue and information exchange with Children’s Campaign staff to help shape and support our legislative agenda; and
  • establishing and maintaining relationships with policymakers and the media in their communities.

If you are a passionate community leader in early childhood learning and development, K-12 education, or children’s health, and would like to learn more about the IAK network, please contact Charlie Veraza, It’s About Kids Network Manager at charlie@coloradokids.org.
