SB 16-188 (Hill/Williams & Sias) Access to Resources for Charter Schools

SB 16-188 would address key issues related to charter school funding and facilities by creating mill levy equalizations among public school students; reducing requirements imposed on charter schools as conditions of qualifying for capital construction funding; and leveling the BEST playing fields.

HB 16-1423 (Lundeen & Garnett/Hill) Student Data Collection, Use, Security

HB 16-1423 bolsters existing laws pertaining to student data security by adopting additional responsibilities for the State Board of Education, the Dept of Education, and school districts, BOCES, and charter schools to increase the transparency and security of students’ personally identifiable data.
