This bill would establish a role within the Colorado Department of Education’s (CDE) Office of Family, School, and Community Partnership to provide meaningful support to schools, districts, and teacher preparation programs to design and implement research-based family-school partnership strategies and training.

The Children’s Campaign supports this bill. It would set conditions at the state level for Colorado to become the national leader in advancing and implementing research-based, high impact family-school partnership strategies throughout our education ecosystem. With one additional employee the department would have the capacity to more deeply engage with school districts and members of the community to strengthen family engagement efforts that is supported by an emerging body of research.
