This bill would allow school-based health care centers to provide treatment for opioid and other substance use disorders and to apply for grants to provide these services. The bill would also establish the Opioid and Other Substance Use Disorders Study Committee in statute until 2020.

The Children’s Campaign supports this bill because it expands behavioral health services offered in school-based health centers to include treatment for opioid and other substance use disorders, which would increase access to these services for youth who need them.
