HB 16-1050 (Pettersen/Merrifield) Establishing a Task Force to Assist Parents Pursuing Postsecondary Education in Addressing Child Care Needs

This bill would create a task force to coordinate multiple initiatives in different state agencies to better provide child care access to individuals pursuing higher education or post-secondary training.


The Children’s Campaign supports this proposal to establish a more coordinated approach to addressing the child care needs of individuals pursuing education.

Current Status

Passed the House with bipartisan support and is scheduled to be heard by the Senate State, Veterans, & Military Affairs Committee on Wednesday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m. in SCR 356.

HB 16-1050 passed out of the House Public Health Care & Human Services Committee on a 7-6 vote and now heads to the House Appropriations Committee.
