HB 16-1022 (Wilson) Full Day Kindergarten Funding

HB 16-1022 would allow for state funding for full-day kindergarten but doesn’t identify a source of funding.


The Children’s Campaign has long-supported access to full-day kindergarten, but without an identified funding source we are worried that paying for this change could come at the expense of other public investments in children’s health, education, and early development.

Current Status

Passed out of the House Education Committee on a 7-3 vote (1 absent) and was referred to the House Appropriations Committee.
