

Shawna Mounsey
Shawna Mounsey works as the Director of Development for the Colorado Children’s Campaign’s. In this role she champions a culture of philanthropy to increase engagement, build relationships, and align mission, program, and operation goals with revenue generation. Shawna does this by creating and leading the Children’s Campaign’s annual fund development, guiding donor stewardship, overseeing all fundraising activities including special events, managing grants, and advancing relationships with funders.
Prior to coming to the Children’s Campaign, Shawna worked for other Colorado non-profits including Junior Achievement and Minds Matter Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications, emphasis in Mass Media, from the University of San Diego. She has a Master of Science in Communications from the University of Colorado-Denver.
Shawna is a Denver native and graduate of Cherry Creek High School. When she’s not working, she can be found enjoying all that Colorado has to offer with her husband, Tyler, and their daughter, Emerson.

Biggest Pet Peeve: Being late.
Worst Job You’ve Ever Had: Being a greeter at Bath and Body Works and having to ask people if they wanted lotion samples.
Best Job You've Ever Had: A lifeguard and swim instructor in high school
Dream Job: Starting a family foundation so that I could give money to organizations making a difference in Colorado.
Job You Wouldn't Do In A Million Years: Anything having to do with moths, I’m deathly afraid of moths.
Best Thing About Working At The Children’s Campaign: Being able to make such an important impact on the lives of children in Colorado.
Who You Idolize Most: My Dad!
Your Greatest Extravagance: Experiences. I would rather spend money on doing something and making memories as opposed to buying something.
Most Likely To Be Found On A Slow Friday Afternoon: On a patio drinking wine with friends, or curled up on the couch with my daughter and husband watching a movie.
Favorite Colorado Getaway: Love the mountains, especially Vail!
