Riley Kitts serves as the Government Affairs Director for the Colorado Children’s Campaign. Riley has spent several years in Colorado politics, working both inside and out of the State Capitol. He earned his degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado-Boulder and immediately dove into local politics right after college. Riley comes to the organization from the Colorado Department of Human Services where he spent three legislative sessions spearheading the Department’s legislative and budgetary agendas. Prior to that, he spent several years with the Colorado House Democrats serving in various roles from Executive Assistant to the Speaker of the House to Field and Outreach Directors. Some of Riley’s proudest legislative accomplishments include the passage of HB18-1306 to improve graduation rates among youth in foster care and HB17-1207 which helps ensure that 10 through 12 year olds are not going to detention centers for low level misdemeanors. Riley is a graduate of Bishop Machebeuf Catholic High School and enjoys watching every second of high school, college, and Broncos football with his wife, Alyssa.
