Event Details

Join the Colorado Children’s Campaign for a skills building workshop that examines the “why” behind disparities in health and educational outcomes experienced by children of color and shares strategies to break down the barriers to realize health equity. All our children deserve access to the opportunities they need to succeed. Together, parents, advocates and others who care about kids can use data, personal stories and research-driven communication to break down barriers to racial and socio-economic justice.

During this interactive workshop, our Research Director, Sarah Hughes, will share how to use data to make a case for health equity, Communications and Outreach Director, Tara Manthey, will provide training on a research-based approach to talking about race and inequity, ACT: Affirm, Counter, Transform, and participants will have the opportunity to reflect on childhood experiences with race and practice using the ACT approach in their advocacy for child wellbeing.

  • Dinner begins at 5:30, workshop begins at 6:00 p.m.
  • Free and open to the community!
  • Child care available upon request.
  • Traducción en español disponible a pedido.
