Food for Thought
Tie up your aprons and join us on April 24 at 4:45 p.m. for an evening you won’t forget with Colorado’s own James Beard Award winning, industry-recognized Celebrity Chef Jennifer Jasinski. Food for Thought is an event of cooking fun that will simultaneously benefit Colorado kids by sparking important conversation about food insecurity in our state.
We are thrilled to bring this exciting culinary experience to your home. With the magic of technology, you, our budding chef, can cook a 3-course meal in your own kitchen with top-tier guidance from one of the best. Chef Jen will lend her talents with a curated menu and live direction just for you. Not a budding chef? You can still participate by testing out your mixology skills with Chef Jen and taking notes on how to recreate the evening’s delicious recipes on your own. You’ll also be free to bid on great culinary items during our Foodie’s Fantasy silent auction, and can order a delicious meal from Chef Jen’s local restaurant, Rioja. You don’t want to miss this experience!
Together we will appreciate the culinary arts, build community, and hear about efforts to combat the food insecurity facing so many children and families in Colorado. The Colorado Children’s Campaign works to protect and expand crucial state and federal programs that keep school-aged children nourished and ready to learn like Breakfast after the Bell and the Child Nutrition Lunch Protection Act. During the pandemic, we have joined with partner organizations to address the more than 50% of Colorado households with children who are feeling additional strain (Hunger Free Colorado). Proceeds from this event ensure that children facing the greatest barriers to opportunity have access to food and other resources through their schools, even when it is not in session or in person.
