A Dedication: to those who love what grows

A poem on behalf of The Colorado Children’s Campaign staff

in the name of

the gardener

who tends to seedlings

before there is fruit to bare

in the name of

the chef

who honors the growth of the body

from diapers and child care

in the name of

the mother

whose hands give life to all that lives

and to the fighter

who gifts the living a future;

a future that gives.

in the name of

the joke telling father

whose love language is teaching joy

and resilience… in the awkward spaces between laughs

in the name of

the advocate

whose comforting voice

calls our youth to their desired paths

in the name of

the people

who care for the ones yet to grow

the ones yet to grow

in the name of the voter

we thank you

we thank you

for a commitment to children that shows

we thank you for your light

a light that shone through the seals of your envelopes

we thank you for your hope

you inspire us more than you will ever know
